Mandala for focus uses a circular focus object and timed repetition to train concentration—useful before study or creative work as a mindfulness warm-up.
A mandala for focus is a brief attention drill: pick one ring, track it with your eyes or pen for a set time, and return every time you drift. It works like a gym set for concentration—not magic, but repeatable training.
Attention wanders by default. A mandala gives a closed path: center → ring → return. Each return is a rep. Count returns without self-judgment; the count usually drops after a week of daily 5-minute sets.
Sit tall. Set a timer. Minute 1: breathe and look at center. Minutes 2–4: trace outer ring clockwise, pause, counterclockwise. Minute 5: write one task you will start immediately. Open your work within 60 seconds.
Use the mandala only as a warm-up, not as procrastination. One session → one Pomodoro block. Track completed blocks, not mystical states.
Try 3–5 minutes before opening books. Longer is not always better.
Moderate contrast—black on cream, or deep green with gold accents. Avoid neon overload.
Paper reduces notifications. Digital works if distractions are blocked.
